It's been my pleasure to put together the Official 50th Anniversary Painting for Lime
Rock Park.
I've met many wonderful and interesting people, run in to old friends and made new friends, watched the cars roar by, and watched the world go by.
Thank you to the many people at Lime Rock Park who helped me learn about their Lime Rock, and gave me access to the track so I could see, with my own eyes, what the Lime Rock experience is like.
Happy Birthday Lime Rock!
The oil painting features the track and cars beloved to racing fans, set in the rolling landscape of Lime Rock Park. To research the painting, I've gathered input from Lime Rock Park's dedicated fans and staff. From Skip Barber to fans from throughout the region, I realize how much people love Lime Rock Park! I'm combining my impressions of talking with people with studying the track in order to compose a scene that tells Lime Rock's story; the thrill of the races and the beauty of the Park (with a little history thrown in).
The original oil painting, in a frame donated by Frames On Wheels of Salisbury, CT and Great Barrington, MA, will be put up for auction during the final event weekend of the 2007 season. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Survive The Drive, the non-profit driver education program established by driving instructor Bob Green in 1997. This exclusive work of art will be on view during the summer season at a local venue and at Lime Rock Park during main events.
